I love Organic eggs which are beautiful, much more nutritious due to a cleaner environment and born in better living headquarters.  Commercial Organic Eggs due to the processing requirements, particularly the egg cleaning process, should not be your first choice. Best by far is Organic fed & raised chickens that are pastured or free-ranged.

It is important to note the healthiest and most humane choice for all egg layers is a Free-Range living environment.  Finding them can sometimes be difficult, particularly while traveling or city environments. Technology can come in handy for your search during travel. Check groups on Facebook, & other social media which can help with your goal. In the meantime, make sure when buying commercial eggs purchase those that are Free-Range, a healthier choice, the chickens get some bugs to eat outside, and are much happier bird.

Choose meats and dairy products that are certified organic. This means that the animals are not given any synthetic hormones or antibiotics meant to speed their trip to the slaughterhouse and keep them from getting sick in their inhumane living conditions.  A positive alternative for meat is 100% Grass-Fed beef, which was the organic before there was Organic Certification.

By taking these steps you will be avoiding the chemicals that survive the cooking process, and some say much better tasting meat. Farmers & Growers are your friends, visit your local farmer’s market and maybe you can hire a farmer for you food.

These boxes are available in many areas and contain fresh fruits and vegetables, usually from local farmers. A great thing about this is that it will encourage you to try out fruits and vegetables you maybe wouldn’t have otherwise tried.

Establish a relationship with local Farmers who are willing to work with you and your particular needs.

Is it Organic? | Living Healthy Organic Lifestyle

Be aware though, just because you bought something at a farmer’s market or because it came out of a veggie box doesn’t mean it is organic. Before purchasing anything ask the person you are buying something from where it came from and what products were used to grow it. Living Healthy Organic Lifestyle food should be grown without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. Sometimes that is not the case, so ask.

When it comes to meat and eggs, you can look for small farms in your area, some of which may be able to sell you fresh meat and eggs directly from the farm. Make sure to ask them about how the animals are raised and whether they are fed any antibiotics or hormones.

That’s not to say you can never ever eat out again as long as you live. You can, but try to limit this to special occasions.

When you do eat out, try to choose places that promote the use of organic ingredients. Research the restaurant before you go there to make sure they actually practice what they preach.

    Hey Robert:

It certainly is a truth that paying attention to the quality of your food does lead you to choices that are also good for the world around you. Your choices are a vote for taking care of the land, taking care of your food sources, and taking care of the people who do these things too.

    A good thing….

I’m very health conscious and always try to eat and buy organically grown products. I also love organic eggs which have become a staple in my diet. People who think that eating fruits and vegetables are eating healthy often don’t realize that many of these types of foods are imported from countries that use pesticides that are extremely unhealthy. It’s so important to do research beforehand to make sure that what you are putting into your body really is healthy. There are so many misleading products out there.

    • Robert ClackRobert Clack

Thanks for your comment. Yes, we have to continue our awareness so that we can have relative piece of mind that our food is clean. Thank for visiting the Organic Hangout. I hope you visit again.

I really appreciate your article on organic foods. I was particularly interested in the part about organic eggs. I have been buying the cagefree for awhile now, and I am wondering if that is the same as free range? Thank you for developing this website, I will refer back to it.
    Take Care,

Hi Heather… Thanks for the comment. First a link about Organic Eggs for you from the Website. https://organichangout.com/hea… You can find many topis in the menu on opening page. Simple answer to your question. Chickens cage free are often mistreated. If you can imagine a warehouse floor filled with chicken enough that they can’t walk around in Commercial Cage-Free. There is much more if you are interested.

Thank you for paying attention to your choices. The more we improve our choices the better the market becomes. Consumer is the Decision-Maker. All the Best!

Interesting information, totally worth trying, I really would like to start a lifestyle like that away from a big city. Certainly this lifestyle is hard work so I like to make question.

Do you think that is better to start buying from local farmers and eventually start maybe harvesting or something like that on your own?

I make this question because I really like this kind of lifestyle but I know that you can’t instantly produce your own food, so maybe little by little start harvesting or maybe rising chickens.

I love the idea of going organic but it does seem a bit daunting. For a while now I’ve been thinking I would love to start growing my own vegetables. However, if you don’t use any chemicals the how do you keep the bugs out? We also have a lot of foxes where I live. How do I stop them from eating my vegs? Can I grow vegetables inside with a grow bed?

    • Robert ClackRobert Clack

Thanks for you comment Hollie. Glad to hear you are considering growing your own vegetables. Definitely will improve you health eating out of the garden. Bugs are a good thing. Learn the good ones and bad ones and work on increasing the good. Foxes may mean some extensive fencing. Grow bed would be great and perhaps Grow Pots if you are starting out you could move the pots to safety. Challenge yes. One day at a time.

Here is an article for you… https://organichangout.com/how

      • Hi Hollie,

        How are the foxes?

Just following up on the garden protection factors that you were working on. At the time I didn’t have a picture of the size of garden and suggested Grow Pots… How did everything work out for you?

Eating organic really is fantastic and the switch isn’t that much of a sacrifice. When I first started, I had trouble accepting the cost. However, if you shop at local farmers markets, you can often get a great deal (like you said). In addition, these farmers markets usually have a pretty nice atmosphere and you can get products that you normally would not be able to find anywhere else. Thanks for the info! I will have to try out the grow beds!

    • Robert ClackRobert Clack

Thanks so much for your response.

Wonderful to hear your good news in the Organic Lifestyle.

Yes, isn’t great at the Farmers Markets. Such great people and a chance to learn more. Just love it when that time shows up in the week.

Hope you do give the grow beds a try. Portable is a good thing where I live due to the weather. It is also a bit better on the back…. I keep everything elevated.

      Have a Happy, Healthy Day!
