There are still more advantages to organic foods that’s not reached the average consumer. Particularly the health advantages. Studies are coming in with wonderful results on the antioxidants and much more. (See below)  Thankfully the advantage of less polluted food is a great start. Most of us are beginning to understand that chemicals are not healthy, period.

There once was a time where chemicals were not as exotically dangerous in virtually the entire food industry. It was not even a thought let alone the pervasiveness that we live with now. Today in conventional food it is common business practice to do anything possible to increase production. Whether it is crops of grains, vegetables or animals. Conventional foods overall has an obsession for peak production at the lowest cost. At the cost of their customers health.

The World has begun to discover some of this and are  protesting the utilization of deadly chemicals (Ex. Monsanto) within food production, which is out of control.

This a type of unsaturated healthy fat, than conventionally produced products, according to a 2016 study in the British Journal of Nutrition. And with the exception of poultry, conventionally raised animals can also be injected with synthetic growth hormones, so they’ll gain weight faster or produce more milk.

Drug residue is believed to contribute to widespread antibiotic resistance. Organic foods—which are produced without antibiotics—“are intrinsically safer in this respect.” Organic meat and dairy also cannot contain synthetic hormones, which have been linked to an increased risk of cancer.

MORE ANTI-OXIDANTS

In a recent six-year study in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, researchers found that organic onions had about a 20% higher antioxidant content than conventionally grown onions. They also theorized that previous analyses—several of which have found no difference in conventional versus organic antioxidant levels—may have been thwarted by too-short study periods and confounding variables like weather.

 

The research was “very well done,” says Guy Crosby, adjunct associate professor of Nutrition at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health. But he points out that this specific study “takes just one aspect of phytochemicals and shows they can be improved under organic conditions.” The question of whether organic foods are truly more nutritious is still debatable, he adds. “Had the researchers chosen to measure a different vitamin or mineral, they may have found a different result.”

 

Organic practices has been advocated because the main best practices that promote the conservation against pollution of water construction areas. With a growing population there will be a high rate of agricultural activities. Nitrate levels in water will raise due to higher utilization of fertilizers. This is not good, of course.
